Questions?

What is your Registration?

As a Registered Social Worker and a Registered Clinical Counsellor, I have completed thorough screening and testing to show my commitment to upholding the ethics and professional standards of both Social Work and Clinical Counselling in BC. This means that I can issue a receipt with an RSW# or an RCC# that can be used to cover the cost under your benefit provider. Please ensure your benefits cover a Registered Social Worker or a Registered Clinical Counsellor.

What age of children do you work with?

I see children of all ages, but the younger the child, the more involved the parents will be. When we first get started we can discuss what this will look like.  Parent involvement could be every session, every few sessions, or not at all depending on age, ability, and needs of the family.  I have taken care of and worked with children for 25+ years, and have been told I have a special ability to connect with children.

What populations do you work with?

I work with all ages of children and teens. I work with families and parents who would like support with family dynamics. I work with women who experience women's health concerns including reproductive health, mental health and physical conditions. I am especially drawn to working with neurodiverse populations, as I find my collaborative and creative style has been a great fit for neuro-affirming therapy.  As a Christian, I am able to provide Christian based counselling.  I work with gender diversity, and consider myself an ally to marginalized individuals.  I use talk therapy but I have also found that creatives and artists enjoy that I offer an opportunity for creative expression in my practice.

What does Parent Support look like?

I take an Attachment Parenting lens when supporting parents.  I have facilitated parent education groups and worked in parent support/coaching roles for over a decade.  I am also a parent myself. I offer Parent Support for parents who have children in Child/Youth Counselling and/or Family Therapy.

Is this service covered with extended benefits?

As a Registered Social Worker and a Registered Clinical Counsellor, your benefits may cover some or all of the cost. Please inquire with your benefit provider to find out what coverage you have. I will provide a receipt  with my RSW# and RCC# that you can submit to your benefit provider.

Do you offer Pro-Bono sessions?

Do you work in person or online?

I do both!  You can book me in person or online, but when it comes to children, I highly recommend you book in person.

I offer a free 15 minute online consultation as an opportunity to see if this is a good therapeutic match.  I do not offer pro-bono sessions at this time, but I am happy to suggest some no cost resources.  I do hold space for a few reduced cost/sliding scale clients to meet the needs of those who indicate need due to low income.
